The two drawings are electrically the same for all PRACTICAL purposes at the current levels we draw in an RV.
Yes, but, are they both the same when it applies to a much higher recharge current?
If I am understanding your question correctly then the answer is no.
Whether connected in series, parallel, or series/parallel, the charge rate is the same. Think of it as one very large battery.
