Partial electrical outage

Suddenly, most of the electrical outlets in my 2018 Keystone Cougar fifth wheel went dead. I still have the outlets attached to the kitchen "island," and the outlet in the bathroom. All the others are dead. Also, the electric fireplace in the livingroom is off. I have checked the panel and all the fuses. The trailer is not running the battery. What could be causing this?

About a couple of hours after it started, the power came back on by itself, and stayed on for about half an hour. Then it went out again. Then, it "tried" to coming on in rapid succession several times, and then went out for good.

  • Check that the plug is inserted in the RV properly. Easy to not get it twisted.

Seems to have reset it. I'm waiting to see whether it kicks out again, but so far, so good.

  • A 2018 RV shouldn’t have “fuses” for the 120V loads. But I am assuming by “checked the panel” you mean you checked all the circuit breakers to ensure they weren’t tripped. If not, that’s the first place to start. After that, you need to ensure the incoming feed(s) (both if it’s a 50 amp) have power, and both sides of all the circuit breakers have power. If any of that is not the issue, then somewhere you likely got critters chewing wires or other similar issues (chaffing, pinched, bent and broken, etc).

^This is most likely. And likely a loose lug or connection in the locations Steven mentioned or at the panel.
Because you lost “half” the power, it’s plausible you have a 50A panel which splits loads (outlets etc) onto 2 separate 120v power legs.

Okay, I can reset to normal functioning by unplugging and plugging back in; but it only lasts a matter of a few hours, and then goes out again as before. What could cause that? The last time it happened, there was hardly any load on it.
