With either the 622 or 722K that I mentioned, while there is only one box, the two separate TVs in different rooms can each control the receiver. There is no reason for the receiver to be in either room that holds the TVS. The remotes on these two receivers can be either operated as a IR remote OR an RF remote.
In other words the person in the bedroom can watch whatever they wish, including pause, fast forward, stop, change channel, etc, etc.
At the same time, the person in the room with the receiver in it can watch whatever he or she wishes with the same degree of control. The 622 or 722K could be in the bathroom or entertainment center or anyplace else and be controlled by each TV viewer via RF Remote controls.
Both persons could create a timer to record a future event whether the other person was watching or not.
Insisting that one does not want one box in a room suggests that there is still confusion over Sat Dishes, Receivers, and TVs.
