Either of the two VIP receivers come with two satellite tuners and either one or two over the air (OTA) tuners. In the latter receiver, one can simultaneously record four shows - two on satellite and two OTA.

Additionally, while those four are recording the one TV could be watching any one of those events while recording OR could be watching something recorded in the past. While that is all going on, the person in the other room with the other TV could be watching any of the four recordings or watch some previously recorded event from days past.

I am simply running out of ways to try to explain this.

Yes, these receivers come with two remotes - one IR and one RF. In the classic setup, as I understand RVs (Which I actually have never set foot in lol) the Receiver might be in a living room with a TV. A second TV would be in the Bedroom with only a coax cable coming from the receiver and plugging into the TV.

The remote in the living room would be the IR remote because it can "see" both the TV and the receiver. The remote in the bed room would be RF so as to control the receiver in the living room - and it would also provide IR control signals for the TV's Power and volume, and other features.

I have not discussed RV antennas as I have absolutely zero knowledge of them. I gather from what I read here that some RV antennas can only "see" one satellite at a time - for full flexibility with Dish one really would like to "see" three.

This limitation, if correct, changes nothing that I have said except you can not record or see a show if you can not "see" the satellite it is carried on.

The 622 and 722K have large internal hard drives built in - and the capability to attach external hard drives that you could purchase anywhere.

Only one receiver is required to accomplish what we both believe the OP desires.

Well, you are making the assumption that the OP will have a 3-LNB antenna, like you have at your house. A single cable carries the complete signals from your three LNBs to your 622....etc. receivers which have multi-tuners. You can tune any channel with any of your multiple tuners!

The X2 has only one LNB and can only lock onto one satellite at a time. This means that all tuners are limited to channels on that one satellite.
