Not true! I suspect a lot of lurkers will be learning a bunch from this thread. From what I've read here, I'm concluding that Dish must send the guide info out on all the satellites, and I had assumed otherwise. Everybody has their own use model. For me, I find that 90% of the value of satellite service is being able to record shows that are inconvenient or impossible for me to watch in real time. Without recording capability I wouldn't have it. For others, it's a non-issue.
