I did see one RV with two portable antennae and two cables going into the RV. Using two Tailgaters/X2s and two 211/Wally receivers, one combo for each TV, will give both TVs complete freedom to watch any shows.

What is wrong with one Dish receiver driven by one coax cable coming from a single antenna that sees all three sats? (The one receiver being independently viewed and controlled from two different TV locations as described above?

There is no need for either two antennas nor two receiver boxes!

With either the 622 or 722K that I mentioned, while there is only one box, the two separate TVs in different rooms can each control the receiver. There is no reason for the receiver to be in either room that holds the TVS. The remotes on these two receivers can be either operated as a IR remote OR an RF remote.

In other words the person in the bedroom can watch whatever they wish, including pause, fast forward, stop, change channel, etc, etc.

At the same time, the person in the room with the receiver in it can watch whatever he or she wishes with the same degree of control. The 622 or 722K could be in the bathroom or entertainment center or anyplace else and be controlled by each TV viewer via RF Remote controls.

Both persons could create a timer to record a future event whether the other person was watching or not.

Insisting that one does not want one box in a room suggests that there is still confusion over Sat Dishes, Receivers, and TVs.

What you describe sounds perfect. I have no need to record in both rooms, as my wife is the only one who records. so one box to record and watch would be great. What I meant about one box in the living room is I don't want to go to bed and bring a box from the living room to the bedroom. So I'll google 622 and 722K and see what comes up. I'm guessing it's receivers and to be honest with you, I'm not rich but I want the best pay as you go equipment the first time around. And do you know anything about my concern of being on our property on the Canadian Border?

I did the almost the same as bear above, but I was a cord-cutter at home using local channels and internet only and was quite happy with it. The RV I bought had the dish so I decided to subscribe and bought the 200 channel package for home as well. Dish customer service has been much better than my previous experience with comcast, When on the road I can activate channels in a new area using the chat help function with dish. Works well.

I'm sorry but the more I read the more confused I get. One thing I haven't said and maybe I should have. I have a 2004 2955RL montana 5th wheel. Under the bedroom TV is the antenna jack and the booster. under that coax plug is another one that say's Satellite. But in the living room there is only one cable hook up?

No disrespect, but it is clear that you have not done your homework as far as Dish offerings nor even gained a knowledge of what a receiver is vs a Sat dish.

Pick up the phone. Call Dish. Explain what you want to do. See what they suggest.

I thank you for your reply. I am trying to help you by identifying gotchas you need to work through before buying equipment.

Here is the 3-LNB Trav'ler antenna that I believe has been working for ReneeG. $1340 at Amazon. You mount it onto your roof.



There is no guarantee that your RV is wired as you wish.

The Dish model of the Winegard Trav'ler is another automatic dish that's limited to the western arc satellites only, and has the same aiming limitations as all roof mounted dishes when on a site with large trees. We prefer using a much lower cost portable tripod mounted dish that can be used to receive either arc and receives all three satellites in the selected arc. Assembling and aiming the tripod and dish usually takes me no more than 15 minutes, fast enough that I don't find even doing it daily a hassle. I use a phone app to find a good aiming location on the site for the dish, and a low cost signal meter to dial it in.
