PD Converters and Water Usage
For Dry Campers Only
No secret I've been a fan of PD converters for 15 yrs or more, and for more than one reason. The PD maintains my batteries every day of the year, except for the 4-5 months that I am actually using them, during which time they are now charged mostly by solar down south, and some generator time on the Oregon coast on many short sun days.
For a long time I have said to check water twice a year, just to stay out of trouble w/ those who maybe use more water than I do, but in my reality, I never remembered watering more than once a year, if that.
Yesterday, changed oil, filter, lubed, and got to the batteries, and thought,....I really don't need to check them, as I think I checked them in March when I got back from AZ,...but then thought, don't be stupid, and then maybe sorry, so I checked them, and again, if the water was down an 1/8", I honest to god couldn't see it.
So in my reality, and my useage, and the PD maintaining them, I can honestly say, my batteries don't need watering once a year.
But of course, I will always check them once a year.
My question,....and the purpose of this post, is,.......
how many others maintaining w/ PDs have the same experience of "water once a year"?? Or others reply too. I'm wondering if it is a PD thing, or are others having the same experience. I consider myself to be an average battery user.
