The PD did hold 14.4 and topped out at 14.56v until I shut it off at 0.8 amps, which was right when the combo ammeter said 0.0amps. It seems to have closed the gap, accuracy wise since the test began
The distance between converter and battery will be minimal, and I have more 2awg than needed and will not deliberately set out to increase voltage drop. The owner of this battery will be informed of High ambient temperature charging. The battery will be ventilated, but confined.
I ground out /filed out some of my harbor freight hydraulic crimper dies for the 2 gauge thick walled lugs. Perhaps I took a bit too much from them as I thought it bottomed out a little early. Rather than grind out a slightly smaller set of dies on the spot, I folded aluminum foil many times and cut it to fit only within the Hex on both sides of the die and ran it through the crimper again, and I could tell all the clamping force was reducing the cross section beautifully, and it came out great. No doubt it is a solid crimp. Perhaps the best one I've ever achieved with this tool. A little deoxit shield might have made it onto the tinned copper stranding before crimping. :)
I love the adhesive lined heat shrink GenuineDealz sells.
