Yep .... the same as the cost of the fuel per mile is the deciding facter instead of the miles per gallon of the fuel.
With regards to battery "value efficiency", it depends upon what cost one is talking about: As you are completely aware, "cost" can be all over the Internet map for any given product. i.e. Rolls Surrette battery costs are in the sky and all over the map up there, Lifeline costs are in the sky and all over the map up there, and Fullriver costs are in the sky and all over the map up there.
That's why sky-high cost became the last criteria for me when battery shopping. Ultimately it boiled down to a balancing act of float voltage specification versus most amp hours per Group 31 size versus most pounds of lead. I took it as a given that the top choices in those categories were all going to last a long time - I hope I'm right.
