I have an approximate 9 5/8" height limit.
The US battery group 31 pics appears all too similar to the Crown, and dimensions exactly the same, but for the height, which is 9 3/4 amd 9.38 for the Crown 31
The crown claims 750 CCA, the US battery 620.
All I want is a freaking 12v Deep cycle battery. I might see if I can just get a refund on the Crown as another place 25 miles the opposite direction quoted me a trojan group 27 for about the same coin.
I did call Crown Today trying to get a weight on the 31dc130, and was foisted on to person after person and was given someones cell phone to call and ask. they have not yet replied to my concerns. perhaps the bait and switch goes further up the chain.
I need to research this more before I go in there with my bathroom scale and multimeter.
I have the Crown removed right now. Everything is running off the Northstar which is still 12.9 with 9 a/h removed from it.
I had cycled the Northstar 27 separately down well below 50% with 255 watts of resistance heaters and then left the schumacher hold 14.65v on the 25 amp setting until the amps dropped to under 2. 7 hours later it still read 12.99V. Engine starting this (late) morning using both batteries never spun the starter faster
I took the schumacher apart. It will be getting a 60MM fan of 4 more CFM for 8 DB, compared to the 28 DB 40 mm fan that is inside it now.
I want to rig up a switch to charge the house and engine batteries separately. i don't want the monitor to count the amps into the Northstar, only the House, so I need to switch the ground to teh battery side of the Shunt.
Not sure if a normal DPDT switch can handle 25 amps or if it should be wired for such an application, even the few 30 amp models I found.
