Not enough room for the height of a T-1275. Looks like you were right the first time and should get AGMs so you can have two in there for enough AH, and not have to worry about getting at them in that difficult access.
It seems the AGMs will last a good while even if not treated exactly according to specs, based on reports this thread. So it seems your least lousy choice is to get more AH of AGMs, enjoy not having to access them, and carry on regardless.
