Coupling different batteries for one cycle is useful to determine exactly what?
I felt I had to put my 2-cents in to at least go on the record.
Same batteries with different base densities of electrolyte don't like each other. Different alloy batteries wish same electrolyte density don't like each other.
Taking them out for a soda is one thing. Having them bunk together is quite another.
I guess all it could show is what their respective SG changes read when the entire bank is presumed to be around 50%. But it appears you are not saying that there is, necessarily a SOC issue, but rather, more of... some kind of... mystical interaction between batteries of differing types.
I would love to learn more about this if you want to start a new thread. But since you've never steered me wrong before... until you do... I'm gonna' take your word for it and simply heed your advice. I'm sure BFL will too.
Just finished four days of camping off-grid at mostly 32F so the furnace was on most of the time. I can't imagine how PT does it in Saskabush at -32F.
Did three 50-90s on the four 6s one per day, and am doing the fourth recharge at home to 100% and will do an Equalize with the Vec, etc etc. Also did one 50-90 on the separate bank of two 12s, where that happened on the third day. Now doing them up at home too.
Still seems kind of dumb to not use the 12s more while the 6s are being recharged every day. However, it all still works out. The 12s are gravy; I used to do the same thing just fine on the four 6s.
I don't have a clue, I just do what Mex says. If anything goes wrong it is all his fault of course. At home the 12s are separate from the 6s still, plus they are separate from each other (they are together while camping). Everybody gets his own float ( I have several chargers for that) I might even separate the two pairs of 6s for their floats over the two month winter we get here :) since they are different a little, but so far no sign they need to be separated (three years and two and a half years old)
