PI EMS-PT50 Issue?

With a delayed click longer than the normal delay that sounds like a CG problem and since it happened on multiple pedestals the problem is in the CG distribution system common to all of the pedestals.
But normal operation and no LEDs suggests the unit failed. Perhaps an intermittent problem since it was OK at another park.
Perhaps there was some noise/transients etc on the power line that the unit could not handle.
Other than checking the original park power with voltmeters and scopes I'd wait to see if it fails again.
Maybe call PI and ask about plugging the 2 units in series and see what the LED show on the unit that displays?
