The Holy Grail here is one meter to do everything.
Capacitance, Frequency, Resistance, all on useful scales
Then AC and DC Voltage and Current
AC and DC Amperages WITH PEAK READING CAPTURE!!! This is to check startup amps on things like A/C compressors. The Button on the side of my $12 Harbor Freight Clamp-on (AC only) meter holds a reading, but it does not capture peak. That's a useful number for generator sizing, hard start kit discussions, etc.
