Actually it's the electricians fault. They should be reading the small stamped print on the devices as they all have an intended purpose by code. Even though they look a lot alike they are different and a lic electrician should go by what it is not by what it looks like. The electrician should be pointing it out to the op. We diy or homeowners are the ones who should be half arse not the electrician. We dont know the code, he's supposed to when he tested out for his lic. :)
