The magnetic reed is a way better swtich in my opinion but the answer to your question is yes.. AND.. I can think of a good reason.

First, you need to know if the switch is normall open, or normally closed,,, Kwikee uses both types depending on the age and shape of the controller.. Sorry, been long enough I forget which is which but you can look it up on the Kwikee web site as I did.

Then you need to mount it..

Some of the products made by Microswitch might do the job, though the ones I'm thinking of are not exactly plunger switches.... But they work in a similar manner (Press to activate) and many of them are SPDT so you can hook it up one way and if it works backwords, move one wire and you good.

I am not looking to bypass the controller,I was wonting to replace the magnetic reed switch that i currently have with the plunger switch that kwikee sales.I understand the plunger switch isnt meant for my setup but would like to replace with the plunger switch because when i shut my door the magnet sticks against the switch.I think if i can use the plunger switch instead it wont stick yet still work just the same.
