Probably said it wrong but is what I was trying to say when I said " I think I will need to have the controller set so it never has over a 14.9 or 15 volt temperature compensated output" ... to protect sensitive electronics and as BFL13 mentioned most inverters alarm or shut down at 15V.
But even though the controller clips the input voltage isn't the input voltage still important in order to get a hi rate of charge when your batteries are in a low state of charge... say a SOC of 50 to 80%?
