I am getting conflicted about solar and RV's. People like to camp in the summer. But it's hot and you want shade. But you have solar and you want sun. You try to go portable and you can't enjoy the things you went camping to do. So why do we use solar?
We camped in that same field seen in the earlier photo in 2010 with no solar, and attempted to stay for a while. Due to "progressive capacity loss" on doing several 50-90s in a row, it got so the batteries could not get us through the next night after two weeks. Had to go home and do a major battery recovery session over three days to get back to proper "full" Then we went back and did another two weeks and the same thing happened.
After that, for 2011, got some solar, and ta-da we could stay for weeks on end no problem. Got to go swimming up at the lake, eat lots of blackberries and corn on the cob and BBQ steaks with no nasty battery issues at all. Three cheers for solar! :)
