well, my epxerience is that campers are a lot more trusworthy than the general public and while it is possible, in 50 years of camping between my folks, and us, we have NEVER lost anything to theft. Is it possible yes, does it drive my day. nope. When we use the portables because we are parked in the trees, I set them up when we arrive, take them down when we leave. leave them out day and night.
growing legs and finding a place to store portable are two downsides.
beinga ble to park the trailer in the shade and stay weeks w/o turning on a gnerator is an upside.
I'll risk them growing legs and park in the shade when I can and enjoy a cool trailer AND stay weeks w/o needing to start the generator.
But, it's something for everyone to decide what they want.
