We have both roof mounted and portable solar suitcase plus inverter generator with Iota IQ4 converter to handle our battery recharging needs when RVing off the power grid. The ability to reposition solar suitcase throughout the day gives us maximum flexibility and max output compared to our roof mounted panel. Our battery bank is located on our a-frame and I wired a connector directly to the batteries instead of utilizing the battery clips. Our Renogy portable suitcase has withstood several years of harsh use, was blown off the back of our truck by high winds and survived being tossed over 10', just dusted it off and plugged it back in. Has been through some light rain with no ill effects to rear mounted controller, all in all it has proven to be worth every penny.
