you shouldn't need to worry. what will happen is the generator will be charging the battery, or the charge controller and most likely provide more current capability than the panels can. so the charger will raise battery voltage, that will tell the solar controller to provide the needed current based on that voltage.
Basically, they will be operating in parallel, with most likely the generator being the master and the solar acting as a slave and follow the generator or charge controller if hooked to shore power.
they should coexist nicelym, at least all the systems I've seen do.
