You asked for standardization. USB Power Delivery provides up to 100 watts over a standardized connector. Adoption for laptops is starting, as it did previously with USB charging for phones and other devices which didn't need as much power to charge.
What geometry has to do with it is a mystery to everyone but you.
But what's it matter? Even if it's USB, you'll just be determined to screw it up by making it non-standard.
