What inverter exactly? Does it not have instructions?
1500 watt inverter should have 3+ batteries and connected with wire to handle 150 amps. #2 should be fine to about 3 feet or #1 if 6 feet away. One or two batteries might work to just get from pedestal to pedestal. I recommend a fuse close to the positive battery terminal.
