Power Pack Jump Starter

I know very little about these things so I come here asking: "Will this thing really start a car?". My wife wants to give one to her son for as a backup for his 2008 Harley Streetglide. He has been with groups of bikes before when batteries have died. Will it work?

Please, no trash talk or smart mouth desired. I'm just curious, and don't want my wife to waste her money if it is just "pie in the sky". My initial reaction is "No way in heck, just too small". But I've been wrong before.

TIA

  • I have a Schumacker(sp) XP2260 it will start a caterpillar and has 120 V plus usb setup. Had it for several years and Although it is a full size, would not trade it for anything smaller.

I have started others diesel PU's in a cold area and only one thing that it lacks is a longer/better air hose for tires. Online, I think for around 90 bucks.

BUT for a moto bike,,, Hard to pack. I believe I saw that same one in Apache Junction,AZ. a guy had it for his bike And carried it with him all the time, He said just make sure you recharge it once in a while.

Cheers and cold here in 29 Palms,, 65*.. This am.:)

    Stay safe and warm.

From what I've seen, they work great in the right circumstances. I used to work with a gal that had a small import car with some electrical problem draining the battery. She used it all the time and swore by it. Kept it in the glove box.

Don't know which one she had abut it was small and would fit in the palm of your hand.

But what I want to know is if they can start a diesel!!
  • We actually need more info on which one you are referring to?? There are a gazillion of them from not so good to superb. Many of these do work very well on a car and they should work very well on a Harley but you need to make sure the voltage of the battery on the bike - most are 12V these days but a few are 6V I believe.
