Yes, you have an extra 10% SOC the first day by arriving with full batteries. Going to 50-90s after that means you might only need to do an actual 50-90 on generator the third morning. ( Unless you are going home that day, when you can just wait till you get home) so for a long weekend away you will need a gen recharge that third morning.
Unless it is cold out. Near freezing, heating our barn of a trailer runs at over 100AH just for furnace per day. I have seen over 200AH down each day, so that means a high amp two-hour gen recharge every morning except the last day when we go home.
You just have to set up for what you do and it all works. Of course, when starting as a newbie you aren't set up right, and you learn fast--especially if you expect DW to go camping ever again! :)
It is really funny how as you go along the needs increase. When we started camping, it was in a tent. The only batteries we were concerned with were in our flashlights! Next came the pup. A single group 24 marine kept us going for 4 nights, no problem. In a few years, I'll probably have 4 or more GC2s and 500W of solar...
But yes, definitely right about keeping DW happy. That's why, hot or really cold weather = on the pedestal for us. But when the weather is moderate, I like going to some of the NPS campgrounds in the Great Smoky Mountains NP and along the Blue Ridge Parkway, none of which have hookups.
