Chain a junkyard dog nearby your panels with water, dog food, and dog house for Bowser. Maybe also leave some empty 00 buck 3" Mag 12 Gauge shells nearby too, make sure they look fresh.
I'd doubt someone would steal portable solar panels, not when generators are much more liquid, valuable, and more easily pawned or stolen. I see generators for sale at pawn shops, all the time, never seen solar panel kits for sale there yet.
If it really bothers you, engrave your name, address, DL number and phone number into the edge of the aluminum frame on your solar panel kit, on the inside, where someone is least likely to notice it and try to wipe it out. Photograph it too, in case you have an insurance claim for theft.
