Problem with LED tail lights for toad

Question

i bought a couple of round LED tailights from Harbor Freight (I know!), and cannot get them to work with my wiring.  I have separate bulbs installed in the tailights, and they work fine, but I want a bar with the LEDS because of the improved brightness.  I can apply 12v &amp; they illuminate, but when I connect them to the toad wiring, nothing.  Is there some interface that I need?  Thanks...Hal

Change your "separate bulbs" to the brighter LED's

While the quality of the tail lights may not be the best they are usually adequate. I bought a set of HF mag base lights for spares in case something happened to my incandescent set and had nothing but trouble with them. I was on the road and decided to fix them if I could instead of returning them when I got home. They were mis-wired. Now that I rewired them, no problems.

Try mikeh449's suggestion and reverse the leads, if that works maybe your ad on lights have the wires reversed.
