Problems with Boondocker 60 amp converter

From reading here and other RV forums, the Powermax Boondocker converters have a poor track record for reliability.
After the Wfcos, Randy is at it again.
Its good they have a 3 yr warranty, they need it.
If it needs changing out on warranty, pay the extra for a PD

It tapers from 12 amps, with batts at 55% it's charging at 10 amps and goes down from there. Doesn't seem very "boondocker" if according to Randy at bestconverter i just need to plug it in and of course run the genny all night.

Flat dead 12 amps is probably normal because the internal resistance is very high. Should ramp up as battery gets 30%+ charged.

Below 10 volts is very hard on the battery.

Hi Trackrig, I have been having issues with both.

I think I will try the "woodalls" website and see if I have more luck posting there.:)

I spoke with Randy at b e s t c o n v er ter and said to simply reprogram my trimetric, I have my doubts that will actually work. He then said to "reset the converter by unplugging it, finally he became defensive and said to simply plug it in and that will chargae it, well sure it will, but I fail to see the boondocker aspect to this thing. I am supposed to run the genny all night for it to work?
