Programable Thermostat Question

Learning a new camper. This one has a programable Dometic Thermostat.
In going through the literature we received with our 5th wheel I did not find a manual for the thermostat. I found one on line that seems to be the right one.
Got the furnace running and everything seems to be working as expected.
Now how do I disable the furnace and air conditioner? I powered down the the thermostat and that shut everything down. In reading the manual it appears I could also change the mode to off.
How are others shutting down their furnace/air conditioners for travel and storeage?
Thanks in advance for any insight. :)
  • When you set the stat to "Off", that kills the AC and heat - no need to turn anything else off.
  • Just set it to off, that takes care of everything. Again, check the model number, and go to the web page.
  • go to Dometic home page. You should be able to find a manual there.
  • I have been using the mode to turn things off.
Simply because I have been either too lazy or don't see the benefit of programming it.

I do program my Home thermostat, but in the RV I just want to manually control it for some unexplained reason.
  • My lux has an off position which is half way between cool and heat .
  • We have two zones on ours but one thermostat. We set both to off using the mode and zone buttons. I will admit have I have not yet tried to program it. I just change the mode to A/C or heat as needed.
