Getting real confused here. This is what I was looking at Duracell Ultra Platinum Deep Cell Group 27 AGM
Says it's deep cell. I've never seen my 55 amp converter charger ever go beyond 35 amps and that was when I was down 50%. So I am really wondering if and how it could really save me hours running the generator or if the solar will charging will be more efficient with the AGM.
If knowing that was 35 amps means you do have a monitor that shows amps, as they taper down to 0.5 per 100AH, then with your converter and Charge Wizard to keep it doing 14.4v, you are good to go if you want an AGM.
Speed of charging, and battery weight are red herrings.
I only switched to AGM because I had to keep them inside and could not have the Flooded ones inside due to their fumes. Otherwise, I would have kept using Flooded. I really liked the T-1275s, but also like 6v GC2s. Really hate Flooded 27 marine/rv because so hard to recharge to full from a 50% deep cycle.
The AGMs do well for camping and recharging, but you must have an ammeter or you will undercharge them or overcharge them, which is bad for them.
