Progressive Dynamics converter and AGM batteries

So from what I gather, my Progressive Dynamics 9200 series 55 amp converter charger that will bulk charge and do there false equalization at 14.3 or 14.4 volts is OK for the 2 AGM Group 27's. My only concern is will it really allow less generator use when dry camping to maintain it daily. Is it really worth the difference between the cost?
