Does anyone know if the thing is working, since it's still blinking fast? How long does it take for the battery to go into storage mode (VERY slow blink)??

In answer to your question, yes, it can take days to go into float mode.
As far as the pendant, I prefer the button and light on the DC distribution panel. I do not want a pendant. If I want to access the information I just open the breaker box door. Then I don't have to store the pendant anywhere.
