Yes it would be annoying. Mine is in a cabinet that I can open when we are setting up camp to check line quality. I would suggest that, if possible, you mount your display so you can see it as you plug in your shore power, then watch it go through it's line diagnostics. But it has shut down on me when line quality is bad so I don't see a need to watch it like a hawk. I just watch when I am curious but it can be pretty boring. :)
