Progressive Industries Surge Protector New Lifetime Warranty

Progressive Industries Warranty A word of caution when purchasing any Progressive Industries product. Their lifetime warranty has changed since the company was sold to Power Products LLC in April 2017. The new lifetime warranty has quite a few "GOTCHA" clauses in it that void the warranty. Such as ANY hardwired surge protector MUST be installed by a QUALIFIED RV DEALER for the warranty to be in existence. Also if the unit is repaired under warranty the labor and shipping are not covered, and the unit has no warranty after that repair. It's a one-time once and done warranty. Also if lightning should strike near you and cause your unit to sustain surge damage guess what, It's not covered!!! ( Act of God )

  • Still a great product and well worth the protection.

    SG? One year max :(
  • Thankfully I heard this news just after buying, but before installing the unit. I have left no holes or any other evidence of its existence.
So if it fails I will simply get a Surge Guard brand unit.
  • That is pretty disgusting, they've left themselves some huge loop holes. Guess they plan to burn the brands good name to the ground.

    My favorites:
Failure to provide continuous maintenance in accordance with the maintenance instructions provided by Progressive Industries

Maintenance of hard wired units performed by anyone other than a qualified RV dealer

Obviously you don't use a surge protector or you would know the difference.
  • Just my luck, I finally buy one of these things and the warranty is worthless.
And mine is screwy; always shows the voltage being much higher than it really is.
