Propane Issues.

I dewinterized today and when went to lite the stove it lit up,but the flame kept getting weak. I had the burner set on high it was like it was on low.. I also could not get the water heater and furnace lite.. Both tanks are full..Im puzzled.. any sugestions?

  • I have a similar problem. Tanks are full but the heater turned off today! I had this problem or similar since it was new. I am not sure the tanks really ever fully empty. It's cold here now---in the upper 30 s or 40 ish.
  • When you opened the LP tanks, the surge of LP into the empty lines caused the excess flow valves located inside the LP hoses to trip. These are the two hoses that connect the tanks to the regulator. Turn off the tanks, wait a few hours and then open the tank valves slowly. If you get real frustrated, replace the two hoses. Their cost is only about $10 each.
  • Repeat close the tank valves and then open them slowly, if problem persist you have either a bad change over valve or regulator. :)
  • make sure you open the valve SLOWLY so it doesn't sense a leak and shut off the gas.
