have our TT sitting for about a year now since we have not gone anywhere because of the virus... went out to it yesterday and a strong smell of propane by the front of it by the tanks and inside by the front. had my tanks on. turned them both off and smell went away after awhile.. So I assume a leak is going on, but where do I start to locate it..and how????? we live in az where the summers are in the 110 plus temps and TT is in the sun most of the day., could that have dried out any kind of seals if there are any???? No propane devices until mid-ship where there is the heater and than the kitchen is all the way in the back along with hot water heater. its a 28 ft....THANKS..

You can use a soapy water spray and look for small bubbles.Were the tanks off? Were they full? Sitting in sun?

Get out the soapy water, I actually find something like 409 or fantastic works. Watch this: RV propane leaks

Unless the tanks were filled full before storage when cold they could of off gased some when they heated up in the sun.As others have said soapy water at all joints and look for bubbles to form.

Spray the soapy water on the hoses also. I would bet that is where the leak is.

I would start by looking at the tank connections. Are they tight?

If so the primary suspect would be the hoses around the regulator. 3 connections there, one of them could be leaking.

As the good suggestions above mentioned, get out the squirt bottle with soapy water and get after all connections.

409 has ammonia in it. Recommend not testing for gas leak with ammonia-based product.
