I would change the title of your thread, it is confusing saying switch and you mean "valve".
Did you try turning it the other way? It should be counter clockwise to open.
Are you sure it is not open and the LP detector has stopped the flow of gas via a solenoid on the tank?
Make and model of rig?
I would not mess with it too much. Long weekend without LP, but best thing is to go to a LP supply place like Ameri-gas or Suburban dealer on Tuesday and have them check it out.
