Your regulator has failed, I would stop using it and get it replaced.
Most regulators are preset at the factory to 6 ounces or 10.5 inches water column. The regulator flow setting is affected by hose size, burner size, venturi etc.
Contact the bbq manufacturer and order a replacement.
