I've seen unusual pressures on outdoor LP appliances. Manifold pressure and orifice size has to go along with the burner design to get the correct air/fuel ratio. I've worked on several gas appliances that wouldn't burn blue or they didn't have a primary air adjustment and I changed the orifice size and pressure the right amounts (I have charts for that) to give exactly the same btuh input but draw more air and burn right. More max btu capacity out of the reg is fine as long as it's the right min/max pressures to keep the burner heat the same. Best get a replacement from the mfgr. or you could just have more problems. BTW, my Olympia RV grill needs 15" w.c. on high fire to do the job. 10" w.c. won't cook anything. Craig
