Propane Shut Off Solenoid Drains House Batteries

Hi all,
Has anyone with an RV equipped with a propane shut off solenoid notice that when your propane is on that your house batteries will drain rapidly?

Thanks in advance

  • The "fail safe" configuration is that the solenoid is "on" all the time except when the LP sensor senses LP, and then it shuts down. Don't know how many times such a system has saved an RV from a fire. Anyone care to comment?
  • Yes, most of the LP solenoids draw power when the LP detector is on. It should not drain "rapidly".
Make and model of LP detector?
