Mena what's the one on the neg to frame wire for? Why have one between batteries?
ISTR you asking before about why a fuse but can't help there! All I know is it is supposed to stop the wire from melting inside a wall. Smk has said he isn't fussed as long as the wire is out where you can see it.
The 18" from battery rule comes from car audio amplifiers ISTR. They worry about fire if a collision shorts the wires I think it is.
I don't bother fusing the short wires to the battery where I can see them, like from the solar controller to battery. My Vector portables don't have any fuse on the wire next to the positive clamp. Neither does my 100amper when rigged as a portable. If acting as a converter and where pos wire not visible, then on goes a fuse.
