I have a separate 15A 120 power cord that i use to run the heater separate from the camper 30 amp service.On my last trip, On two occasions the park's 120 power cord receptacle was the 20 amp type (the one with the blade that runs off perpendicular to the hot blade. So my 15 amp plug will not fit in there. i been searching for a puck style adapter that will let me adapt my 15 amp plug to the 20 amp receptacle. i probably am not using the right words on my search or something.I would appreciate it if anyone has a quick link to one and would post it. Thanks in advance.

A standard 20 amp NEMA 5-20R should accept a 15 amp 5-15P without any problemA 6-20R is an opposite configuration and is 250 volt.They are the same size.Where was this found?

NEMA 5-20R typically has a 'T' slot for the neutral and will fit either plug. If the Hot is turned it is a 6 series for 250 volts. Put your meter on it.Otherwise look for a short appliance cord rated 20 amps as it should have the turned neutral plug and a 'T' slot receptacle for your extension cord.

I would not use a puck sty;e adapter. They will overheat and could burn.

I have seen outlets that are 20 amp only I know of no own who makes a PUck but a "Dog bone" is easyGet a standard 15/20 amp Outlet (Extension cord end) and a 20 amp plugusign 10 or 12 ga wire (12 is codem 10 is heavier duty, I like to go big) you need about 6 to 12 inches is all.Connect Black wire to the copper serewsWhite to the Silvery screwsGreen to greenand seal the cord to the outlet and plug where it enters (GOOP works well)Job done.

I get what you are saying Gordon. I did not get the meter out to check it. This may be a case of a blind squirrel always finding an acorn. :S

It was dark and colder than a well diggers behiney, So i grabbed the 220 to 30 pigtail and plugged the camper in. Then I grabbed the 30 amp to 15 amp puck and plugged the heater into the 30 amp outlet via the puck adapter.

i will take all this knowledge i gleaned next time I head down the road.

this has definitely been an educational post for me.

Don't see a dedicated 20amp 125v outlet on that chart either, just the t-slot

Note plug has the turned neutral and the connector has the T neutral.

Where is the "20 amp only" 125v receptacle on that chart? I'm only seeing a 20 amp only plug.

I am currently using 12-3 stranded wire.

This is not a 110/220 issue, my wording must have been misleading.

Since you obviously have to run an extension from the heater to the power post why not just invest in a heavier gauge 20 amp extension cord and forget about adapting the 15 amp you're currently using.
