There is a difference between a contractor buying material parts & pieces which he will then decide how to assemble into a working system; vs him buying an already complete system or product designed and built by others. Your contractor is not going to warranty the frig or washing machine or television or furniture. If all he did was install & connect it per the manufacturers instructions, the warranty is from the mfg. All the contractor may do is act as the middle man in helping you file your warranty claim with the mfg.
