if you have a DC power supply with a voltage at a set voltage powering equipment
that voltage will not change unless the load exceeds the ability of the power supply
the panels are a pure DC power supply the controller is the voltage regulator
panel voltage Should be maintained steady (given clear skies) as long as charge amps are less than or equal to Vimp..solar working load amps
and the input and output are isolated and can be measured that way
the positive common for input and output of these Chinese controllers is the reason for this whole discussion
you can't read different voltage if the input and output are tied together
go get two batteries with different resting voltage, then connect them, the voltage will now be same on both positive posts
its the same dang thing
why is it so hard for people to understand this
there have been a lot of solar load tests done, and almost everyone was trying to see the MAX power from the output and loaded the system with an inverter pulling more than what the solar could produce, which causes a continuous drop in the battery voltage, and when used with a positive common controller, there is only one out come if you measure voltage everything is low
the panel voltage into the xantrex is as measured, does it change ?
sure with the weather and sunshine availble
