You need to look for a rubber coated cord. Most of those available are plastic.
Rubber is more expensive but will coil fairly well in all kinds of weather. I guess I'm lucky as my 1998 Winnebago Itasca came with a rubber cord. I'd like to get and extension but just can't justify paying the price of a rubber one.
