I'm not the electrical whiz many here are, but I don't think Kill-A-Watt can capture "Peak Inrush" when the Compressor starts. In other words, I think the startup demand is more than many meters will capture for us to see. A meter with Peak Inrush capability is more expensive but will give you the actual value. Then there's the question of the generator being able to spool up fast enough to provide that without going into overload first and kicking out.
