Question about what could be on the top of my RM2652 fridge?

I have an odd question. Does anyone know if the *top* of a Dometic RM2652 'fridge has any exposed wires or components? Or is the top enclosed or just free of any "guts"?

I've looked at the manual and I can't see anything.

What I'm going to try to do is push a fish tape from the back of the RV, over the top of the fridge and towards the front of the RV. I want to pull a new RG6 run from the front to the back.

And, it'll be a blind push, I can't get my head up in there to see anything.

I'm a little concerned about snagging anything that could be exposed on the top of the fridge. I'm hoping that it's just a smooth metal or plastic top with everything important enclosed.

I don't think there's anything up there to snag, but I thought I'd ask.

Thank you!

  • To help you fish the cable thru... You could remove the few screws holding the refrigerator in place, slide it forward and out of the opening... Should be only a 12 volt, gas line and a 120 volt cable. These are usually connected with slack to allow the refrigerator to be serviced...
  • Two choices to see what is there:

    1. Remove the roof vent and look down from the top.

    2. Use an inspection camera and snake the scope head up from the bottom. That's what I did because I have an inspection camera...but, you can also rent one inexpensively from Home Depot tool rental.

  • I've had mine out and there's nothing up there. I ended up filling the area with insulation (sides too).
