I'll give it another couple of days looking for an unhappy camper. If a battery costs three times as much as lasts three times as long, it's a compelling positive value. Failed batteries cost a lot of money.
By the way, A 600-watt DC to DC voltage BOOSTER as sold on AMAZON, allows a reasonably voltage step up which is REGULATED. These critters minimize long run voltage drop. They have a limit of feasible correction but for moderate voltage drop situations they work fine.
