I'm guessing you have a Magnum ME2012. At any rate I typically get 80A out of my 100A rated ME2012. The DC output rating is based on 120V at the input terminals. This is one of 4 cost design tradeoffs that Magnum designed.
I asked because I may need to add more battery capacity in the future and chargine etc has to be considered.
