Are there folks out there who have decided they do not like AGM batteries and believe their AGM battery purchase was a mistake, and should have purchased standard flooded lead acid batteries instead? ...

Corrosion also saps volts and leads to standing discharge and premature failure of the bat, not to mention cables. They don't heat up during use/charging so they can better tolerate typical RV exterior mounting in black plastic battery boxes that will heat up in the sun. This also means I don't have to uninstall it after every use to store in the garage or shed because it's just fine staying in the battery box on the tongue. I don't have the luxury of interior mounting in the PU, and like I said before, I'm lazy, so these were big considerations for me.
Everyone talks about no maintenance, but does not define what sort of maintenance that is.
